Gibran Meets 'Demo' Students In Front Of Surakarta City Hall
Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka met hundreds of students who took action in front of the Surakarta City Hall, Central Java.
Students called for Gibran to fulfill his promise when he was elected vice president.
The students were also seen carrying several posters containing demands, including "Prabowo-Gibran if he was the leader of the Republic of Indonesia, he had to keep his promises to the people", "We need evidence that is not a promise", "Demand Gibran promised never to betray the Indonesian people", and "We need a leader who can bring an Advanced Indonesia".
When meeting students, Gibran signed an integrity pact delivered by the students calling themselves the Solo Raya Student Alliance.
After meeting students, Gibran confirmed that he would follow up on the demands of the students.
"Yes, we are committed according to what they called for," said Gibran as quoted by ANTARA, Seras, February 6.
After signing, Gibran promised to follow up according to the contents in the integrity pact. "According to the points, yes, that's what it was," he said.
When asked about the action as a form of support for him, Gibran evaded.
"No, they protested earlier," he said.

Meanwhile, the field coordinator of the Solo Raya Student Alliance Farauq Naufally Mumtaz said that through this action the students demanded that Gibran be committed to carrying out his promises.
"His electability is very high, we want when he becomes vice president to keep his promises, including maintaining state security and developing MSMEs," said the student of the UMS Law Faculty of the 2021 class.
Especially for students, he also hopes that Gibran is committed to developing the potential of young people.
"In the younger generation, it can be further developed, both in terms of quality as students and the younger generation," he said.
