183 ASN Reportedly Proven To Violate The Neutrality Of The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN) Tasdik Kinanto said 183 ASN or around 45.4 percent of the 403 ASN were reported to have committed violations of neutrality in the 2024 General Election.

"Based on reports received by KASN, 403 ASN were reported for alleged violations of neutrality. A total of 183 ASN or 45.4 percent of them were proven to have violated neutrality," said Tasdik, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 6.

Then, as many as 97 ASN or 53 percent of them have been sanctioned by the staffing officer (PPK). Meanwhile, in the 2020 Simultaneous Pilkada, 2,034 ASN were reported to have violated neutrality.

A total of 1,597 ASN or 78.5 percent of them were proven to have committed violations. Then, 1,450 ASN or 90.8 percent have been sanctioned by PPK.

According to Tasdik, from this comparison there is an anomaly of data that needs to be further disclosed from election organizers. This can of course be done through the support of civil society organizations that observe democracy and especially the election.

"The cases of violations whose facts are increasingly systemic, massive and structured, are not directly proportional to reports of violations that occurred," he said.

Not only that, he also explained that the facts of violations that have the most destructive and reckless potential are sourced from the use of bureaucratic resources, namely in the form of regulation engineering, HR mobilization, budget support allocation, program assistance, facilities/infrastructure facilitation, and other forms of support to provide partiality to one of the pairs of candidates.

So what happened was not only the politicization of the bureaucracy, but the harder it was to push for political bureaucracy. Because, the estuary is the erosion of ASN ethics with increasingly uncertain political conditions.

This causes ASN to be in a big dilemma, because they face pressure to take sides. This condition will certainly be a problem and greatly affect the implementation of honest, fair, and democratic elections.

Currently, from the various facts that have occurred, almost all elements and knots of ASN have the potential to violate neutrality, ranging from the peak level to the bottom, namely PPK, Acting Regional Head, Election Organizer, ASN, VATPN at various levels. In fact, many state officials and state economic apparatus officials have dropped into winning teams for certain pairs of candidates.

"This condition is certainly very likely to take advantage of various bureaucratic resources in their respective institutions," concluded Tasdik.
