Nokia Announces 5G Patent License Agreement With Vivo

JAKARTA - Finnish telecommunications equipment company Nokia announced on Monday, February 5, that it had signed a multi-year 5G patent license agreement with Chinese smartphone vendor Vivo. They will begin to recognize the net sale of the deal in the first quarter of 2024.

"In this agreement, all pending patent disputes between the two parties, in all jurisdictions, have been resolved. The terms of the agreement remain kept secret in accordance with the agreement between the two parties," Nokia said in a statement.

This is Nokia's 6th smartphone license agreement in 13 months and follows deals with Apple, Samsung, OPPO, Honor, and Huawei.

"Nokia is now close to completing the smartphone license extension cycle," the company said.

The group last month said it expects Nokia Technologies, its intellectual property licensing business, to generate at least 1.4 billion euros (Rp 23.8 trillion) of operating profit by 2024.
