Confiscation Of Cellphones To Aiman's Instagram Account Called TPN Menyabhi Rules
JAKARTA - The Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) said that the confiscation of cellphones, emails, SIM Cards to Aiman Witjaksono's Instagram account by the Metro Jaya Police violated the rules.
TPN Deputy for Law, Todung Mulya Lubis, explained that the confiscation could not be carried out because Aiman's status regarding the police was not neutral, he was still a witness.
"Because the status of Aiman's brother is a witness, Aiman's brother is not yet a suspect, as a witness the confiscation cannot be carried out," said Todung at the Media Center TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Tuesday, January 30.
Todung also said that the confiscation of Aiman's personal email and Instagram account was unreasonable.
"I've also never heard of a confiscated Instagram account, maybe this is the first in history and beyond common sense," explained Todung.
He objected to the investigators' efforts to obtain evidence from Aiman, whose status as a witness, not as a suspect.

Previously reported, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, emphasized that the confiscation of Aiman Witjaksono's cell phone was for the sake of evidence in the investigation.
"The confiscation is a series of actions by investigators to take over and or store under their control, objects moving or not moving, tangible or intangible, for the sake of evidence in investigation, prosecution and judiciary," said Ade Safri, Friday, January 26.
Ade Safri also explained that currently Aiman's status is still a witness in the alleged case of spreading false news or hoaxes.
