Kaesang Will Optimize Akbar's Campaign To Introduce PSI Program

Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep said his party would take advantage of a 21-day open campaign period to introduce the party's program throughout the country.

Kaesang hopes that by optimizing the open campaign period from January 21 to February 10, 2024, PSI can gain a lot of votes so that it passes the parliamentary threshold or parliamentary threshold of 4 percent in accordance with Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu).

"We are increasing socialization, like later in 21 days of open campaign, we will use it as much as possible to introduce PSI in Indonesia," said Kaesang, who is leading PSI's regional land coffee (kopdarwil) which was held behind closed doors in Padang, West Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 19.

Based on General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) Number 15 of 2023 concerning General Election Campaigns, the open campaign schedule starts on Sunday (21/1) until Saturday (10/2).

During this time, participants of the 2024 General Election may also advertise in print, electronic, or online mass media. Kaesang believes his party can pass parliament and does not repeat the failure in the 2019 elections.

"God willing, this time the SKSD (one seat of one electoral district) can break the egg," he said.

The city of Padang, West Sumatra, became the second city of Kaesang's political safari on the island of Sumatra, Friday, before he left for Tarakan, North Kalimantan, on Saturday (20/1). Kaesang assessed that PSI's electability in West Sumatra had increased considerably.

He also hopes that PSI will get a mass vote niche in West Sumatra, the area that is the basis for the Gerindra Party's votes led by presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

PSI is one of the supporting parties for the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Yesterday, we had several niches of Prabowo's voice, yes. We'll try to take it if possible, if possible; but all of Gerindra," said the youngest son of President Joko Widodo.
