SAP Bribery Case Drags BAKTI, Minister Of Communication And Information: Please Take Action If There Are Findings Of Problems

JAKARTA - Not long ago, a software company from Germany SAP was declared to have violated the regulation on Foreign Corruption Practices (FCPA) in the 2015-2018 period involving many countries, one of which was Indonesia.

Commenting on the news, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics does not tolerate any bribe value received by BAKTI, which was once referred to as BP3TI.

"Any preparation and regardless of the value cannot be tolerated. We from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics assigned the inspectorate general to investigate this case," said Minister of Communication and Information Budi at a press conference on Friday, January 19.

Budi also emphasized that this case occurred in 2015-2018, even now the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) is still called BP3TI.

Nevertheless, Budi stated his openness if there were findings of legal problems within Kominfo. He said that the legal apparatus could immediately take action against anyone if there was a case.

"So the president director is already deceased. However, we from Kominfo remain open when there are findings of legal problems, we just act, please law enforcement officials if we want to process it, I will explain the conditions are like that," said Budi.

"When there are BP3TI findings, please process them. We respect the laws in Indonesia and invite law enforcement officials to take steps," he continued.

Previously, BAKTI Kominfo had also stated its commitment to supporting the process
