Electric Short Circuit, 2-story House In Kramatjati Burns

JAKARTA - A fire occurred in a two-story house located on Jalan Kumbang, RT 06/06, Batu Ampar Village, Kramatjati District, East Jakarta, Wednesday, January 17.

Head of Operations for East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman said the fire that occurred at around 14:46 WIB was caused by a short circuit in the electrical current at the scene, then the fire spread and then grew.

"The cause was an electrical short circuit, the chronology was that suddenly there was an electric ignition from the internet cable and the fire spread to the ceiling of the house," said Gatot when confirmed, Wednesday, January 17.

Gatot said, after receiving reports of the fire, several personnel were immediately deployed to extinguish the fire. At around 14.57 WIB, the fire was started by firefighters and fire engines.

"We have deployed a total of 75 personnel along with 15 fire engines for extinguishing," he said.

Until the blackout entered the cooling phase at around 15:26 WIB, Gatot confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

However, the loss reached approximately hundreds of millions of rupiah with a burned area of 200 square meters.

"The victim was nil," he said.
