Dua Lipa Calls Its 'Psychedelic-Pop-Infused' New Album Inspired By Primary Scream And Massive Attack

JAKARTA - Dua Lipa said that his upcoming psychological-pop-infused album was inspired by songs by Primal Scream and Massive Attack.

This pop singer from Albania previously discussed the sound of her album in an interview with iHeartRadio. He said that his new album would have a "psychedelic path".

"All the other songs on this album are very different, but overall they have a very psychedelic groove," Lipa said.

"Houdini has so many electronic variations, but at the same time it has a lot of interesting and also feels very organic...it's something I really want to convey on this album," he continued.

Now, on his new profile with Rolling Stone, the singer of 'Dance The Night Away' reveals more influence on the album.

In his profile, journalist Brittany Spanos wrote that Lipa called the album a "respectful" containing a psychedelic pop element on British wave culture, "with a lot of inspiration from 1991's Primary Screamadelica" and Massive Attack.

Other inspirations for this album include Britpop legends such as Oasis and Blur, as well as rock and electronics artists in the 90s such as Moby and Gorillaz.

This album feels rawer. I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and let things happen, good or bad. You can't change that. You just have to accept whatever happens in your life," Lipa told Rolling Stone.
