Admiral Golovko's Fregate Joins Russia's Northern Sea Fleet, Equipped With Hypersonic Missiles To Stealth Features

JAKARTA - The frigate Admiral Golovko, who joined the Russian Navy last December, completed his journey from St. Petersburg to the main base of the North Fleet Severomorsk, with fleet commander Admiral Alexander Moiseev saying it would improve the capabilities of the Russian Navy.

Fregate Commander Captain Andrey Slavin reported to Admiral Moiseev about the success of shipping to the North fleet.

"He is the newest warship to be the backbone of a blue water ship. This frigate will operate in an important area of the World Ocean for our country," Admiral Moiseev said, launching TASS January 11.

"The arrival of these warships greatly increases the combat strength of the fleet," said Admiral Moiseev.

The 22250 project frigate was built with the latest technology and armed with precision weapons, including hypersonic missiles that "enhanced our surface troops' combat capabilities to new levels," the fleet commander said.

Admiral Golovko was built by the Severnaya Verf Shipyard and joined the Navy on December 25, 2023 before President Vladimir Putin.

This warship is armed with Kalibr and Onyx missiles, anti-aircraft and artillery weapons, the latest anti-submarine weapons, and electronic warfare. This frigate has high maneuverability while sailing, and is equipped with a modern navigation complex.

The 22350 project frigate is designed to fight submarines and warships in oceans and oceans as well as to repel airstrikes either independently or in formation. The frigate hull has a flat deck. The ship has a three 'island' superstructure, one post tower and one steel funnel. Not only that, stealth technology to make this ship invisible from enemy radars.

This ship weighs close to 4450 tonnes, with a length of 135 meters. Diesel gas turbine power plants have a capacity of 65,000 stances. These warships are armed with 130 mm A-192 artillery weapons, anti-ship, anti-submarine, and anti-aircraft missiles, including the Poliment-Redut. And, this ship can also carry Ka-27 helicopters or modifications.
