Already Suffering Due To Floods, South Tangerang Residents Get Expired Social Assistance Packages From The Ministry Of Social Affairs

TANGERANG A number of expired items were found in hundreds of social assistance packages (Bansos) from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) through the South Tangerang Social Service (Dinsos) (Tangsel). The assistance was given to flood victims in South Tangerang (Tangsel).

The items that had expired were found by residents affected by the banjr in the Rosewood housing estate, Sarua, Ciputat when checking the social assistance package that was given on Saturday, January 6.

The assistance provided is powder, telon oil, shampoo, diapers to moisturizing baby and toddler equipment.

Head of the Social Protection and Security Division (Linjamsos) of the South Tangerang City Social Service, Yasir Arafat, confirmed that the social assistance package he gave contained a number of toddler items that had expired.

"We have to admit that the incident really happened in the field," Yasir said when confirmed, Monday, January 8.

Yasir explained that when he received the goods, his party immediately took quick action so that they did not check first.

"Because it is the process of providing assistance, we must respond as quickly as possible to provide assistance to residents. So we take out various needs in the warehouse and take them to the field," he said.

"We admit that on the night of the flood incident, we had difficulty sorting so that a package that had expired was also distributed," he continued.

Yasir explained that nine of the hundreds of packages were found expired. On that basis, it takes steps to exchange expired packages and replace the social assistance packages that are still suitable for use.

"Meanwhile, from our sweep to residents affected by the flood, we found nine packages whose goods had expired. And we apologize for the package received and we have exchanged it with a new one," he concluded.
