KNKT Forms Investigation Team For The Cause Of The Turangga-KA Bandung Raya Train Collision
JAKARTA - The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) has formed a team to investigate the cause of the train accident (KA) in Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, West Java."The investigation team has been formed and is on its way to the location," said Head of the Sub-Section of Data, Information and Public Relations of the KNKT Anggo Anugoro through his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, December 5.The accident occurred between the Turangga train related Surabaya Gubeng-Bandung and Commuterline Bandung Raya at Km 181+700 plots of road between Haurpugur Station-Cicalengka Station on Friday at 06.03 WIB.Previously, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI said that together with the NTSC, they would immediately investigate the cause of the accident."KAI will also conduct an investigation with the NTSC to find out the cause of the accident," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus.Another effort made by KAI was to evacuate two series of trains and repair damaged rail lines."For KA-KA trips that will pass in the Haurpugur-Cicalengka area, KAI will make efforts to engineer operating patterns in the form of rotating roads and diversion using other transportation," said Joni.For this incident, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has apologized."The Ministry of Transportation expresses its deep concern and condolences for the train accident in Bandung on the Cicalengka-Haurpugur (Friday) route this morning," said Ministry of Transportation Spokesperson Adita Irawati.Adita conveyed that the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) had dispatched a team with all stakeholders to immediately evacuate victims and railway infrastructure.
This is done so that the service can immediately return to its original state.
