IPW Criticizes Police Performance Regarding The Difficulty Of People Getting Justice

JAKARTA - Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) criticized the performance of the National Police which was considered still unsatisfactory for the public in handling case cases.

The chairman of the Indonesia Police Watch (IPW), Sugeng Teguh Santoso, said that the stigma 'no viral no justice is still happening today. If the incident goes viral, the response or attention of the National Police leadership will be faster on the viral complaints of the community.

"The speed of the Police's response is also in the spotlight because of a slow response. Even when the problems reported have been resolved, the response has only emerged," Sugeng told VOI, Tuesday, January 2.

In addition, IPW also noted that it is difficult for people to get justice in the legal process at the Police. People are also often victims of injustice due to the use of a sided legal process.

"It is designed to use formal law in cases when community members are dealing with capital owners and or have access to power, including access to Polri leaders at the regional level even at the central level," he said.
