Putri Kandung Bimbim Wants To Create Authentic Works Without Parents Touch

JAKARTA - It has been more than two years since Jaya Mezzaluna Bungari with the mononimum Mezzaluna has been present in the Indonesian music industry as a singer and songwriter.

With five singles released to date, Mezzaluna chose to take shelter under the label Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, instead of joining under the music label that houses her father, Bimbim Slank.

Mezzaluna certainly has its own reasons for its choice. As a new person in the music world, the 22-year-old woman wants to develop as an authentic singer and songwriter.

"Actually, I prefer to have my own medium, where I can do something myself, so just separate it," said Mezzaluna when met in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta recently.

"Because I feel that the work is authentic, right, so I want to try it from myself. And I want to know how far I can do something without having anything to do with being more professional," said Mezza again.

But that doesn't mean Mezza doesn't think it's important that her father's input, which has been in the music industry for decades. He still asked for Bimbim's opinion, even after his work was completed.

"Maybe the final result is just telling my father (Bimbim's father). Yes, his opinion will still be heard, but it's like not during the process just yet," he said.

For Mezzaluna herself, Bimbim is a great musician with unquestionable abilities. He did not deny that he had learned from his father about the views he had to have to become a great musician.

"According to me, my father (father) has a very high musicality, knows all kinds of things, and is still open to today's music," said Mezzaluna.

"So, one of the keys from the father also said that for example, if you want to enter the world of music, you have to increase the musicality, don't just listen to that genre," he concluded.
