Technology Trend Prediction From NTT In 2024: Innovation Of AI Adoption To The Latest IoT Ecosystem
JAKARTA NTT, a technology service provider company, predicts a technological trend that may occur in 2024, namely the combination of new trends with the main trend in 2023.
According to NTT, AI adoption will continue to develop to create new innovations that are more diverse for the company. This increase in AI will also be equalized to developments across the network, Edge, 5G Privacy, data center, and Cloud.
"AI adoption grows exponentially and with an artificial general intelligence and technological singularities that are still far in the future, humans will be an important part of the AI story," said EVP Group, New Ventures, and Innovation NTT, Shahid Ahmed.
The prediction of the first technological trend from NTT is the application of Dark NOC, namely the Network Operations Center which monitors infrastructure non-stop for 24 hours. This idea will make NOC work automatically and without human intervention.
Dark NOC can be present and become commonplace for companies around the world if AI for IT (AIOPs) operations continues to be advanced. With this automation, the role of humans will not be replaced because they are still an important part of the network's function.
The next prediction is the use of more innovative energy sources due to electricity consumption from the data center infrastructure. NTT estimates that next year's server rack electricity consumption will triple.
If that happens, the company will have to deal with the excessive heat problem from server shelves by using more cooling. Therefore, cooperation between companies and providers of electrical energy sources may continue to occur next year.

Next, NTT believes that optical cable networks can be commonly used in 2024. NTT says that, More than 100 companies are now partnering to advance IOWN (Optic Network and Innovative Wireless).
With this fairly high demand, optical network cables can emerge as a trend for companies to modernize networks and face sustainable future technologies.
Furthermore, NTT suspects that the IoT ecosystem will be improved with the adoption of Private 5G (P5G) andedge computing. When all three are united, the company can accelerate digitalization efforts with real-time insight.
The last prediction NTT alluded to is the movement of invisible clouds. Next year, the use of clouds can be controlled by certain industries. If the Cloudini transition continues to be pursued, the closing environment becomes invisible and the application will be the main stage.
