2,800 Israeli Soldiers Rehabilitated, Some Mental Disorders
JAKARTA - More than 2,800 Israeli soldiers are receiving rehabilitation treatment in Israel's Ministry of Defense rehabilitation department since the Gaza conflict broke out on October 7, 2023, according to local media.
About 91 percent of the soldiers who were being rehabilitated suffered minor injuries, 6 percent moderate injuries, and 3 percent severe injuries, the Haaretz newspaper said, citing data provided by the head of the Limor Luria rehabilitation department in a joint hearing with the War Health Commission.
The data also shows 18 percent of soldiers suffer from mental health problems and posttraumatic stress disorders (PTSD).
Reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Tuesday, December 19, Haaretz said 48 percent of soldiers suffered injuries to body parts.
Israeli military data shows 463 soldiers were killed and 1,860 others injured since the Gaza conflict broke out on October 7, 2023.

Meanwhile, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed at least 19,667 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 52,586 others, according to health authorities in the enclave.
The war has also destroyed Gaza, with half of the availability of housing in the coastal area damaged or destroyed, leaving nearly 2 million people displaced amid food shortages and clean water.
Nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have died in the Hamas attack, while more than 130 Israelis are still being held hostage.
