Absent, DKI Bawaslu Calls Eko Patrio, Uya Kuya, And Pasha Ungu Cases Of Gibran Distributing Milk At CFD

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has again summoned three PAN candidates, namely Eko Patrio, Uya Kuya, and Pasha Ungu to be investigated for cases of alleged campaign violations by vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The three legislative candidates with celebrity backgrounds are known to accompany Gibran when carrying out milk-sharing activities in motorized vehicle-free days (HBKB) or car free day (CFD) some time ago.

Central Jakarta Bawaslu initially scheduled an examination of Eko Patrio, Uya Kuya, and Pasha Ungu on Monday, December 19 yesterday. However, the three were absent without telling Bawaslu the reason.

"Based on the schedule examined, Eko Patrio, Uya Kuya, and Pasha Ungu. The PAN Blue Squad troops did not attend without confirmation. The Central Jakarta Bawaslu will schedule a re-examination," said the Coordinator of the DKI Bawaslu Violation Handling Division, Benny Sabdo, to reporters, Tuesday, December 19.

Benny said that the three party cadres chaired by Zulkifli Hasan would be asked for information and verification of elements of election violations. From this statement, Bawaslu will observe whether Gibran's activities in CFD are proven to have violated campaign rules or not.

"In general, in the context of handling violations, the name is a study. The study has 7 days plus 7 days. This means that time is still running," said Benny.

Furthermore, Benny emphasized that his party was not selective in investigating cases of alleged election violations, even though this was done by Gibran, who is the son of President Joko Widodo.

"We Bawaslu will not be indiscriminate. We will not be selective and of course our benchmark is regulation. So far there is a legal basis, of course we will run it," he said.

On Sunday, December 3, Gibran distributed free milk to residents in the CFD area or motorized vehicle free day (HBKB) on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

This activity was carried out by Gibran on the sixth day of the 2024 presidential election campaign period. However, Gibran emphasized that the distribution of free milk in the CFD area was not a campaign activity that was usually accompanied by an invitation to vote.

"It's without the APK ( campaign props). This is empty and we don't do taxation for voting or anything, right. No," said Gibran at the CFD location, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Sunday, December 3.

This activity is now included in the Bawaslu examination. Bawaslu is investigating whether Gibran's milk distribution activities to people in the CFD area contain elements of a political campaign or not. If proven campaign, Gibran clearly violates the rules.

This is because the implementation of CFD should not be colored by political activities. It is stated in Article 7 of Governor Regulation Number 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day, it is stated that the HBKB should not be used for the benefit of political parties and SARA as well as an inciting invitation oration.
