BOGOR - Again, a traffic accident involved a mining truck in Parung Panjang that claimed lives. This time a mother and child had to die on the spot, after failing to overtake a mining truck.

According to information compiled by the Metropolitan, the unfortunate accident occurred on Jalan Raya Sidomanik, Jagabaya Village, Parung Panjang District, Sunday, December 17.

Panit Lalu Polsek Parung Panjang Ipda Wardi confirmed that the accident occurred in the Parung Panjang area and claimed two lives.

"The victim died on the mother and child's motorbike, the information was that the brake mining truck failed, hit the driver at the turn," he said.

Because they failed to overtake a mother and child, they had to die after the order of the truck and were buried in the sand. As a result, the evacuation carried out was quite difficult.

In addition, the location is at the T-junction of Parung Panjang, currently the evacuation has been carried out using heavy equipment to lift the body of the truck that hit the motorbike.

Meanwhile, Bogor Regent Iwan Setiawan asked the TNI-Polri elements to help the Bogor Regency Government in handling truck drivers or special mining transportation that often stubbornly in the Parung Panjang area, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Iwan even asked the provincial government and the central government to arrange vehicle traffic in the Parung Panjang area.

"I beg you to help us, the province, the center to help me Bogor, not me with the Transportation Agency, help all, police agencies, soldiers, state officials help us," said Iwan.

He recently issued Regent Regulation (Perbup) number 160 of 2023 concerning the operating hours of special mining transportation. The Perbup replaces Perbup number 120 of 2021. The operating hours of special mining transportation vehicles which originally took effect at 20.00 WIB 05.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB 05.00 WIB.

Through this Perbup, the Bogor Regency Government adjusts operating hours in its area to those imposed by the Tangerang Regency Government, Banten, which is 22.00 WIB until 05.00 WIB.

However, there are still many transporters who do not comply with these rules for various reasons, one of which is passing upstream because they are waiting for operating hours to open.

Thus, Iwan also proposed to the West Java Provincial Government to make parking bags and rest areas in the upstream area of Parung Panjang.

"Meanwhile, my solution based on the study made a parking bag upstream," said Iwan.
