A Month Of Campaign, Lampung Bawaslu Identify 2,539 Violations

LAMPUNG - The Lampung General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) stated that it had made prevention efforts as many as 2,539 times in 15 districts and cities since the campaign took place from November 28 to December 15, 2023.

"The prevention classification carried out in the form of identification of vulnerabilities has carried out 328 activities. There are 33 activities in the form of education," said Head of Lampung Bawaslu Iskardo P Panggar, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, December 17.

He added that the prevention also included community participation in a number of 35 activities, cooperation with 87 activities, issuance of 1,451 official manuscripts, other forms of activities as many as 406 and prevention through publication activities as many as 195.

"The most prevention activities are in Bandarlampung City with 670," said Iskardo.

He said that activities at the city level were divided into 71 activities in Bandarlampung City and 599 activities spread across the sub-districts (Panwascam). Most of the two are Tanggamus Regency with 337 prevention, with details of 45 regional levels and 292 spread over local sub-districts.

"Furthermore, the third most, namely South Lampung with 256, 14 prevention in districts and 193 spread across the sub-districts. Meanwhile, the prevention by the Lampung Province Bawaslu is 15, including one vulnerability identification activity, three cooperative classifications, five official manuscripts, two publications and four other activities," he said.

Iskardo also emphasized that in order to maximize surveillance work, the Lampung Province Bawaslu continues to carry out and maximize prevention to launch stages of election activities.

"This means that we are not only focused on monitoring tasks, but prevention efforts are also important as early detection and a form of mitigation of potential violations at every stage of organizing elections, one of which is the campaign stage," he said.

Previously, the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, November 13, 2023, determined that three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates would participate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

The results of the draw and determination of the number of participants for the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
