Liga 1 Results 2023/2024: Persebaya Detained Imbang Persis Solo At Home

JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya has again reaped unsatisfactory results in Liga 1 2023/2024. Serving Persis Solo at his own headquarters, Bajul Ijo even reaped one point.

Persebaya Surabaya completed the match with a series 1-1 match against Persis Solo at Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, WIB night.

This result automatically adds to Bajul Ijo's poor record in Liga 1. The reason is, so far Persebaya has never won from seven consecutive matches.

Uston Nawawi's team was motivated to stop the bad results of the previous party. This can be seen from the Persebaya movement which immediately appeared sharp at the beginning of the match.

However, the host's attempt to win was thwarted by Persis who gave fierce resistance. Laskar Sambernyawa's defense line commanded by Jaimerson da Silva solidly countered the hosts' repeated attacks.

In the 30th minute Persebaya finally broke the deadlock. Robson Carlos Duarte who received Andre Oktaviansyah's cross gave Paulo Henrique an assist.

However, Henrique's goal was controversial. You see, Henrique's header was pushed over and arrested by Muhammad Riyandi. However, the referee decided that the goal was legal because the ball was considered to have crossed the line before being pushed over.

This moment had made Persis players protest. They questioned why it could be a goal. Despite being disappointed, the match was finally resumed with Bajul Ijo's advantage.

Until halftime, no more goals were created. Persis' efforts to equalize can always be broken because the passes they released are often inaccurate.

Continuing the match to the second half, Persis players immediately appeared pressing. However, the uncontrollable movement of the ball made them often miss opportunities.

Persis' efforts finally bore fruit in the 58th minute. Starting from Messidoro's breakthrough bait, Eky Taufiq managed to escape a sweet cross which was immediately headed by Sho Yamamoto.

This goal triggered Persebaya players to return to the lead. Unfortunately, luck has not taken sides with them. Two Persebaya shots in the 69th and 76th minutes hit the crossbar.

In that tense situation, disaster actually happened to Ernando, who was injured. The goalkeeper of the Indonesian national team was forced to leave the field and be replaced by Andhika Ramadhani who continued to appear until the long whistle sounded.

The 1-1 series results made Persebaya and Persis stay at the bottom of the standings. Persebaya is ranked 14th, while Persis is in 15th position.
