Soetta Airport Alerts UPS To Anticipate Electricity Problems Ahead Of Christmas And New Year

TANGERANG To anticipate electricity supply constraints ahead of the Christmas and New Year 2023-2024 holidays, Soekarno Hatta Airport (Soetta) has alerted Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).

"(We) are alerting Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to anticipate if electricity from PLN is experiencing trouble (problems)," said Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport AP II, Dwi Ananda

As a preventive measure, his party conducts simulations of electrical reliability by power outages from the Main Power System (MPS) to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

This assurance was carried out to measure the reliability and readiness of the electricity and operational system ahead of Nataru (Christmas and New Year's 2024). This simulation test also at the same time ensures the operation and response time back up of the Soekarno Hatta Airport reserve power supply," he said.

Dwi Ananda also said that when the simulation of the blackout was carried out, everything went smoothly without any problems. Even without disturbing the operation and service of passengers, both before and after the simulation, it was carried out.

"We did the planned black out. So that preparations for this blackout have been prepared," explained Dwi Ananda.

He said that when conducting outage simulations, the generator for the back up of the electricity received 1, 2 and 3 all went smoothly.

The generator in MPS 2 has a capacity of 7x3000 KVA or 21,000 KVA with a BBM ground tank of 60,000 liters capable of back-up for approximately 20 hours. Meanwhile, the generator in MPS 3 has 8x 3000 KVA or 24,000 KVA with a BBM ground tank capacity of 180,000 Liters capable of back-upping the listing for 17 hours and 11 minutes.

"During the reliability and readiness test, operational conditions and the electricity network system run normally, either before the off process is carried out until it is returned to the auto system or standard standby," explained Dwi Ananda.
