Throughout 2023, Bengkulu Police Arrest 455 Drug Case Suspects
BENGKULU - The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Bengkulu Regional Police (Polda) since January 2023 until now has arrested 455 people as suspects in drug abuse and trafficking in the area.
Of the 455 suspects arrested, a total of 374 cases were handled by all Resort Police (Polres) and Polresta in the Bengkulu Province area.
"Of the 374 cases that we managed to uncover, we managed to secure 455 suspects, consisting of 434 men and 21 female suspects," said Deputy Director of Narcotics at the Bengkulu Police AKBP. Tonny Kurniawan, Sunday, December 10.
He said that of the 374 cases, there were 130 cases of marijuana, 224 cases of methamphetamine, four cases of gorilla tobacco and 16 cases of drug abuse.
For the suspects who have been detained, on average they are drug users and five of them are narcotics dealers.
Tonny continued, the disclosure of narcotics cases in Bengkulu Province was the result of collaboration between the police and the public, because all information related to narcotics abuse came from the community.

"Without information from the public, we, the Narcotics Directorate and the Bengkulu Police, cannot work optimally, so we need support from the community and let's jointly prevent and eradicate drug trafficking in Bengkulu Province," he said.
It is known that the disclosure of 374 narcotics cases in Bengkulu originating from the Bengkulu Police Narcotics Directorate reached 114 cases, the Bengkulu Police Narcotics Unit 57 cases, the North Bengkulu Police Narcotics Unit 23 cases. Furthermore, the Mukomuko Police Narcotics Unit, namely 23 cases, the Rejang Lebong Narcotics Unit as many as 63 cases of the Kepahiang Police Narcotics Unit revealed 35 cases, the Lebong Police Narcotics Unit 13 cases.
The South Bengkulu Police Narcotics Unit, namely 13 cases, the Seluma Police Narcotics Unit revealed seven cases, the Kaur Police Narcotics Unit 15 cases and the Central Bengkulu Narcotics Unit 11 cases.
