Meeting With The Chairman Of The Malaysian Parliament, Fadli Zon Proposes Indonesian-Malaying Language To Become ASEAN-AIPA Language
JAKARTA - The chairman of the BKSAP, Dr. Fadli Zon, proposed the use of the Indonesian-Melayu language as the official ASEAN-AIPA language during a diplomatic visit to the Malaysian Parliament.
This proposal was welcomed by the Chairman of the Malaysian Parliament, Tan Sri Dato Johari Bin Abdul, who also discussed with the delegation of the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the situation in Gaza, Palestine.
In bilateral meetings, it was agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two parliaments, including the establishment of the Indonesian-Melayu Language Parliament Association. This initiative emerged from the BKSAP DPR RI, considering the number of Indonesian-Malayu speakers which reached more than 300 million people worldwide.
Furthermore, the Indonesian House of Representatives and the Malaysian People's Council agreed to propose the Indonesian-Malayu language as a working language within ASEAN and AIPA through a resolution that will be submitted at the 45th AIPA General Assembly in Laos next year.
In addition to language, Fadli Zon also proposed the formation of a Parliamentary task force related to the issue of Palm Oil in the European Parliament. This is a joint step for Indonesia and Malaysia, as the world's largest palm oil producer, to fight for the people's agricultural oil palm industry. The chairman of the Malaysian Parliament supports this proposal and agrees to be followed up.

The two parliaments affirmed their commitment to supporting the independence of the Palestinian State and condemned the genocide and gross human rights violations committed by Israel against the Palestinian people. Fadli Zon, as Vice President of the World Parliament League for Palestine, proposed that an emergency meeting of the Parliament of OIC Member States or PUIC (Parliamentary Union of OIC members States) be held immediately.
