Huawei Wins Best Award for Contribution to Indonesian Employment

JAKARTA - Huawei recently received the highest appreciation from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in the Large-Scale Foreign Investment Company category for its contribution to job creation in the ICT sector at the inaugural Naker Awards 2023.

The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, handed over the award directly to Jeffrey Wang, Vice President, Management Transformation, Huawei Indonesia, during the award presentation ceremony.

This award aims to give appreciation to entrepreneurs who implement best practices in human resource management, both in internal and external human resource development.

The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, expressed her appreciation to Huawei for showing a strong commitment to building the fundamentals of the employment ecosystem in Indonesia through the creation of harmonious industrial relations, a competent, certified workforce and a safe and healthy work environment.

Huawei now employs more than 2,000 Indonesian workers and is responsible for 500 start-up companies and MSMEs operating in 15 subsidiary sectors, thereby creating 20,000 jobs.

Meanwhile, Huawei's 100,000 Digital Talent program has also provided benefits to 12,000 Indonesian technicians.

"This is proof of our long-term commitment to supporting the acceleration and realization of Indonesia's big vision to become the world's leading digital economy by 2045," added Jeffrey.

Through this opportunity, Huawei also wants to reiterate that they are always ready to collaborate with all stakeholders in Indonesia to increase the literacy and skills of human resources in the digital field.

"We are ready to transfer our knowledge in the fields of Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Cyber ​​Security, to 5G technology," he said.
