Claiming To Be From Mandiri Main Finance, 6 Debt Collectors Looted Cars Accompanied By Beating Action

The Central Java Regional Police revealed a case of car robbery carried out by two debt collectors from one of the state-owned banks, SN (40) and YA (29). The robbery of the installment car took place at the House of Niti yard, Kedung Mundu, Semarang City, Thursday, November 2, at around 19:00 WIB. The victim was named Marihot Pandapotan Lubis (44), a resident of Banyuputih, Batang Regency, Central Java.

According to information received by VOI, the car robbery occurred when the victim named Marihot Pandapotan Lubis (44) borrowed a Calya car from his friend to take his family to a Graduation visit Muhammadiyah University Semarang. They also stayed at the House of Niti Kedung Mundu.

Until Thursday, November 2, the victim went with his family to participate in activities at the location. Until finally the graduation ceremony was over, the victim and his family returned to the inn. At that time they were approached by 6 debt collectors by driving 3 cars.

According to police reports, the six perpetrators claimed to be debt collectors of PT Mandiri Utama Finance. Because of fear, the victim and his family did not get out of the car.

The witness, who was scared at that time, contacted his friend by telephone. After waiting for 2 hours, the victim and his family got out of the car. What a surprise, the perpetrators immediately took out the items in the car.

Dirreskrimsus Polda Jateng Kombes Johanson Ronald Simamora explained, at the time the victims were afraid the perpetrators would take it.

"The victim and his colleague and their family were scared and withdrew. The car was then left. Then the two perpetrators used towings. The victim then did a post-mortem to the doctor and reported it to the police," said Kombes Johanson Ronald Simamora.

There was an argument and there was a push. According to records, the victim was beaten by debt collectors. The victim and witness (family) resigned in fear and allowed their friend's Calya car to be taken by the perpetrators. The victim and the witness did a post-mortem and reported it to the Central Java Police.

After the identities of the suspects were identified, the Central Java Police Jatanras Resmob Team conducted an investigation into the whereabouts of the suspects.

Until finally on Tuesday, November 14, at around 01.00 WIB, the team arrested the suspects (SN and YK) and secured evidence to be brought to the Central Java Police.

The evidence that was secured by the police was 1 unit of Toyota Calya silver Nopol G 1763 ZQ, 1 unit of Toyota Avanza black Nopol H 1021 RZ, 4 cellphones belonging to the suspect, 6 identity cards of the suspects, 1 flash drive containing CCTV footage, 1 flash drive containing video recordings, 2 car keys, 1 notebook containing records of the executor's withdrawal from the Sunarko team.

Johanson also said that the arrests of these suspects were based on two reports from the Public.

"They were reported for withdrawing the vehicle on the grounds that they received a power of attorney from the leasing where they worked," said Kombes Johanson.

Two of the six debt collectors were arrested. While the other four debt collectors are still being sought by the police, DPO.
