There's Nothing WRONG With Punk-Style Buskers, As Long As Don't Make People Restless, Especially Criminals
JAKARTA - The severity of life in Jakarta was felt directly by two punk-style street buskers with tattoos all over their bodies. These two people had the initials MAW alias Bewok and IA alias Peloy.
In their daily lives, the two street buskers often control Traffic Light (TL) or the red light on Jalan Raya Bekasi, KM 25 towards Pulogadung, Ujung Menteng Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta.
To survive in Jakarta, Bewok and Peloy only rely on guitar by becoming buskers on the streets. With a different appearance, such as wearing a punk band t-shirt and tattoos, both of them have gestures that make people restless.
According to colleagues in the community, there is nothing wrong with punk's performance as long as his behavior is positive.
Bewok and Peloy admitted that they received Rp50 per day from the results of busking at the red light intersection.
"One day we get Rp50 thousand, even then we share it (to other friends). (Ganment results) For Food," said IA alias Peloy, Thursday, December 7.
Bewok and Peloy are registered as residents of Cakung District, East Jakarta. Bewok was forced to become buskers because his last education was only in grade 3 of elementary school, as well as Peloy who also graduated from elementary school. Bewok and Peloy do not have a permanent job, both of them often busking on the side of the road.
However, his efforts to earn a living were wrong because Bewok and Peloy often forced the residents when they carried out the ngamen action.
