List Of 23 Victims Died As A Result Of The Eruption Of Mount Marapi

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported an additional death toll from the eruption of Mount Marapi in West Sumatra. As of Wednesday, December 6 at 21.00 WIB, the death toll reached 23 people.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Agam Regency BPBD, Ichwan Pratama Danda, said that the last victim found had been identified.

Along with these findings, joint SAR operations will be closed. Even so, the Agam Regency BPBD will continue to maintain an emergency response post to help the victim's family.

"All the victims have been found, finally one person died. That way, our SAR operation will be closed," said Ichwan in his official statement, Thursday, December 7.

Ichwan emphasized the importance of opening an emergency response post so that those who are still looking for their family members can coordinate better.

He also appealed to people around Mount Marapi to avoid activities within a three km radius of the top of the mountain, as well as reduce activities outside the home, while wearing masks.

BPBD also plans to coordinate with various agencies to deal with the continued impact of the eruption of Mount Marapi, starting from the agriculture, forestry, to health sectors.

Ichwan appealed to the public to remain calm, not be influenced by issues that have not been verified, and always follow the instructions of the local government.

In this disaster, the number of climbers found reached 75 people, consisting of 52 survivors and 23 people who died. The following is a list of the identities of the victims who have died:
