Allegedly Committing Violations, 29 Foreigners Arrested By Soetta Immigration

TANGERANG - A total of 29 Foreign Citizens (WNA) were secured by Immigration Class 1 Special for TPI Soekarno Hatta. They were arrested for allegedly committing a violation.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office, Subki Miuldi, said dozens of foreigners were secured thanks to community reports and joint operations on November 29-30 yesterday.

He said that the joint operation involved several agencies, namely the West Jakarta Police, the West Jakarta Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), to the National Unity Agency.

"From the joint operation, 29 foreigners were arrested who were suspected of committing immigration violations, such as misuse of residence permits, excess stay or overstay, so they could not show valid immigration documents," Subki said in his statement, Friday, December 1.

Subki also said 29 foreigners who were detained came from the African continent, such as 27 Nigerian citizens, 1 Ivory Coast citizen, and 1 Ghanaian citizen. They are currently being investigated by his side.

"Until now, our team is still conducting in-depth investigations regarding other possible violations that have occurred," he concluded.
