24 Neighborhood Units In Jakarta Are Still Submerged By Floods

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that as many as 24 RTs in Jakarta were still submerged due to high rainfall and overflowing Ciliwung Rivers.

"This update until Friday at 08.00 WIB, 24 RT or 0.078 percent of the 30,772 RT in the DKI Jakarta area is inundated," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 1.

A total of 24 RTs are located in four urban villages in East Jakarta, namely Bidara Cina, Kampung Melayu, Cawang, and Cililitan.

In Bidara Cina, water submerged two RTs with a height of 80 centimeters. Meanwhile, in Kampung Melayu, as many as 10 RTs were submerged in water as high as 30-150 centimeters.

Meanwhile, in Cawang Village, seven RTs were submerged in water as high as 30-170 centimeters, while in Cililitan Village, 100-120 centimeters of water submerged five RTs.

The area that has receded is one RT in Cawang Village. There were no refugees in the incident.

Previously, moderate to heavy rain hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings on Thursday (30/11) and Friday, causing an increase in the status of the Depok Alert 3 Post (Alert) on Thursday (30/11) at 20.00 WIB.

The Pesanggrahan post also has Alert 3 (Alert) status on Thursday (30/11) at 01.00 WIB, Angke Hulu Alert 3 Post (Alert) on Thursday (30/11) at 04.00 WIB, Manggarai Siaga 3 Sluice Gate (Alert) on Friday at 02.00 WIB, and Sunter Hulu Alert 2 Post (Siaga) on Thursday (30/11) at 23.00 WIB.
