Ministry Of Transportation Implements Jabodebek LRT Promo Tariff Ahead Of Christmas-New Year

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has implemented the Jabodebek LRT promo rate ahead of the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.

Director General of Railways Risal Wasal explained that the tariff promo was given to encourage the public to take advantage of the Jabodebek LRT in traveling during the end of the 2023 holiday period.

"People's mobility during this holiday is predicted to be quite high, so we hope that the Jabodebek LRT can be utilized optimally to reduce road congestion," Risal said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 30.

The promo fee was issued through the Decree of the Director General of Railways Number: KP-DJKA 266 of 2023 concerning the Third Amendment to the Decree of the Director General of Railways Number KP-DJKA 147 of 2023 concerning Tariffs for People's Transportation by Integrated Light Trains in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi Regions to Carry out Public Service Obligations which were signed on Thursday.

With the enactment of the new promo tariff, the public can use the Jabodebek LRT with the tariff scheme as follows.

First, working days Monday-Friday during peak hour (peak hour) period 06.00-08.59 WIB and 16.00-18.59 WIB. Tariff of Rp. 3,000 (1 km first) and Rp. 700 per km later with a maximum tariff of Rp. 20,000.

Second, working days Monday-Friday outside peak hour) early hours of operating hours-05.59 WIB, 09.00-15.59 WIB, and 19.00 WIB-end operating hours. Tariff of Rp. 3,000 (1 km first) and Rp. 700 per km later with a maximum rate of Rp. 10,000.

Third, Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays. The tariff is IDR 3,000 (1 km first) and IDR 700 per km later with a maximum tariff of IDR 10,000.

Meanwhile, the promo tariff scheme will be implemented starting Friday (1/12).

In addition to imposing new promo rates, Risal said that DJKA will also add a series of Jabodebek LRT trains that operate to 16 series from the previous 12 series as of December 1, 2023 and gradually add the entire series (27 series) to be fully operated.

"The addition of this series is intended so that the waiting time (headway) can be shortened to 7-15 minutes at once to anticipate a surge in passengers during this holiday season," said Risal.

He hopes that with the enactment of new rates and the increase in the number of series, the Jabodebek LRT can be used as a mainstay mode of public transportation during holidays or to carry out daily activities.

"We make sure the Jabodebek LRT is ready to serve the community excellently so that people can switch to using this mode of transportation," he said.
