Joint Team Orders 36 Pondok To Increase Riau TNTN Forests

PEKANBARU - A joint team of environmental and forestry law enforcement officers disciplined 36 huts belonging to forest acquisition in the Tesso Nilo National Park (TNTN) Dusun Take Jaya Air Hitam Village, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province.

"The control was carried out because the operation of the joint team to control the addition and security recovery of the TNTN area found that around 600 hectares of land from an area of 8,000 hectares of forest had changed its function to oil palm plantations, and plants were already one year old," said the Director General of Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Ratio Ridho Sani in Pekanbaru reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 30.

Rasio Ridho said that the additional activity in the TNTN area was carried out using a mode of buying and selling land by one of the residents of Take Jaya Hamlet, Air Hitam Village to migrant communities who wanted to build oil palm plantations.

Most of the residents came from Indragiri Hulu Regency and outside Riau Province, 80 people had purchased the TNTN area land.

"After they bought the land, they cut down trees, then the land that had been opened was planted with palm oil and a cottage was built for temporary shelter," said Rasio Ridho Sani.

Ridho Sani's ratio explained that the team had pocketed the identities of the perpetrators and intellectual actors involved in land clearing and additional activities in the TNTN area.

"Soon an investigation will be carried out to be questioned to account for their actions," he said.

Rasio Ridho Sani menegaskan, para pelaku pembukaan lahan dan perambahan hutan diduga melanggar Pasal 50 ayat (2) huruf a Undang-Undang (UU) Nomor 41 Tahun 1999 tentang Kehutanan, sebagaimana telah diubah UU RI Nomor 6 Tahun 2023 tentang Penetapan Perpu Nomor 2 Tahun 2022 tentang Cipta Kerja menjadi undang-undang.

For this crime, the perpetrator is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 7.5 billion. The criminal threat is getting heavier by being charged with multiple sentences to provide a deterrent effect.
