25 South Sumatra Police Ships Deployed To Distribute Logistics For The 2024 Election Can't Reach Small Rivers
The police have prepared 25 ships to assist the General Election Commission (KPU) in distributing logistics for the 2024 General Election in South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) South Sumatra Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Pol Rachmad Wibowo said his party would reach the outermost, farthest and most difficult areas (3T) through water transportation whose data was obtained from the KPU.
"We have received information regarding the 3T area and we are ready to help the KPU reach the area for escort," said Rachmad in Palembang, South Sumatra, Thursday, November 30, confiscated by Antara.
Rachmad admitted that the ship owned by the South Sumatra Police had shortcomings, namely it could not go through the waters of small rivers.
However, the shortcomings of the ships owned by the South Sumatra Police can be overcome because based on the KPU report, Rachmad said that the KPU has a budget to rent a ketek or wood ship to reach small rivers.
"The KPU has a budget and will rent a ketek ship to reach the area and we are ready to assist in escorting the KPU," he said.
According to him, during the 2024 General Election, as many as 6.2 million South Sumatra residents will vote.
Rachmad hopes that the voting will be carried out well and without conflict. Because based on the history of the South Sumatra region, it is a zero election conflict area.
"This is a national event and the KPU as the executor or EO and we the police provide assistance for handling security for the success of the 2024 democratic party," he said.
