Labor Demonstration Causes Traffic Jams, Police Apply Cikarang Toll Exit Flow Diversion

Demonstrations of workers caused traffic jams in the industrial area of MM 2100, West Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, today. The police also implemented a traffic flow diversion scheme at the exit of the Cikarang Toll Road.

"The labor action conveys opinions but uses an alternating route. So that in the alternal route there is a traffic jam, as well as access from the Cikarang toll exit, there are obstacles because the alternation is connected to the Cikarang toll exit," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman told reporters, Thursday, November 30.

With this diversion of the current, motorists who want to go through the exit of the Cikarang Toll Road are directed to continue to the next exit.

Thus, congestion in the MM 2100 Industrial area, West Cikarang, can be broken down gradually.

"So it is so that the exit toll gate is diverted to other toll exit places such as West Bekasi and Cibitung," he said.

Then, Latif said that the action of conveying the opinion did not interfere with the flow of traffic on the toll road. However, motorists heading to the East will be asked to take the MBZ Flyover Toll Road.

"The important thing is that the toll road for trips on the toll road is not a problem, there is no problem going to East Java, we just divert it and we maximize the MBZ toll road," said Latif.

Meanwhile, the mass of workers held a demonstration with demands for an increase in the provincial minimum wage or UMP. The value reaches 15 percent.
