At The UN General Assembly, Malaysia Will Rantang Urges A Permanent Armistice In Gaza

JAKARTA - Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abd Kadir will urge the international community to ensure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, at the United Nations General Assembly and the UN Security Council's open debate in New York, United States, on Monday local time.The 78th Plenary Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UN) and the open debate of the UN Security Council on November 28-29, 2023 discussed the situation in the Middle East, including Palestinian issues.According to a statement from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zambry, as quoted by Antara, will urge the UN Security Council and the international community to take immediate action to ensure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, Palestine.Malaysia also asked for the availability of safe corridors for the distribution of humanitarian aid without any obstacles, and rejected any partiality in the application of international law and the determination of moral standards.
Zambry said Malaysia's participation with a number of member countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Arabia and the countries of one thought on the UN platform, was to increase pressure so that the absolute rights of the Palestinian people were returned.The UN Security Council's open debate in New York will take place on the same day as the commemoration of International Solidarity Day for Palestine.
