North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Demands Death Of 3 Couriers Of 135 Kilograms Of Marijuana
The Public Prosecutor of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has demanded the death of three defendants who were couriers of marijuana-type narcotics weighing 135 kilograms.
"Demanding the defendant Supriadi, the defendant Wildan alias Wily and the defendant Arwanda Anggara (suggested separate prosecution) with the death penalty," said prosecutor Randi H Tambunan at the Medan District Court, North Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 27.
From the facts of the trial; the three defendants violated Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
In essence, said Randi, the three defendants did what they ordered them to do and those who participated in committing acts without rights or against the law offered to sell, sell, buy, accept, become intermediaries in buying and selling, exchanging, handing over class I narcotics of marijuana.
"The thing that burdens the three defendants does not support the government's program in eradicating drugs, there is no mitigating thing," said Randi.
After reading the memorandum of demand from the public prosecutor, the panel of judges chaired by Faharn continued the trial next week with the agenda of defense (pleidoi) from the defendant and the defendant's legal adviser.

In the indictment revealed, North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Frianta Felix Ginting, said that on Friday, May 26, 2023, Wildan met with Ali (investigation) in Piding District, Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh.
"Ali offers workers to deliver marijuana at a salary of Rp. 30 million to be handed over to Alfi (investigator)," he said.
Then, the two defendants from Aceh met Arwandan and Alfi to the warehouse on Jalan Tanjung Sari Medan Sunggal, Medan to be given a total weight of 135 kilograms.
"Getting information from the public, North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate officers carried out raids at the location," said Frianta.
The results of the arrest, Alfi fled when police officers made arrests, while the three defendants were secured along with evidence obtained weighing 135 kilograms.
