This Is The Price Stimulated By VW For Cheap Electric Cars In China

JAKARTA - Volkswagen has been rumored to be launching cheap electric vehicles several times, or entering the entry level segment in China to offset two auto giants Tesla and BYD.

Quoted from the Electreck page, Monday, November 27, from the latest news the manufacturer will introduce electric vehicles starting at a price of 140,000 yuan or around Rp. 303 million, to attract interest in its most important market (China).

As is known, competition in the electric vehicle market in the world is increasing, due to price cuts from market leaders such as Tesla and BYD putting pressure on other car manufacturers.

"China market is very sensitive to prices," said VW China CEO Ralf Brandstetter.

During a visit to its new electric vehicle facility in Hefei, Brandstayter said the electric car would use a new platform. Based on the MEB VW architecture, which is used for the lineup of existing electric vehicles, the new platform will use local suppliers to cut costs called A Main Platform.

Brandstayer added the new platform scheduled for 2026 will increase development time by up to a third, and the company plans to introduce ten new electric vehicles globally by 2026, to offset other manufacturers.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen plans to launch four new electric vehicles with the most expensive prices reaching 170,000 yuan or around Rp368 million. Later new VW models will be built by joint ventures with SAIC and FAW.
