Meeting The Former Chairman Of The British Labor Party, Fadli Zon Galang Support For Palestine's Independence
LONDON - Chairman of the House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) Fadli Zon met with Jeremy Corbyn, former Chairman of the Labor Party (Labour Party) at Portcullis House, London, England. His second meeting to strengthen parliamentary support for Palestine. Throughout his career as a Member of the British Parliament from 1983 until now, Corbyn has been a vocal supporter and committed to Palestinian independence. At this meeting, the two agreed to continue to advocate for the Palestinian struggle and stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Fadli Zon, who also serves as Vice President of the Parliament League for Al-Quds (The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds), asked Corbyn to garner inter-parlement support for Palestinian independence.
"Jeremy Corbyn is known as a strong Palestinian supporter not only in the UK, but also on the global stage. It is important to attract support from the European region, and he has agreed to join as a member of the Parliamentary League for Palestine," Fadli said in his statement, Thursday, November 23. Corbyn, who is also active in the Solidarity Campaign for Palestine (Palestinine Solidarity Campaign) in England and Wales, underlined the multidimensional conflict facing Gazans and the importance of collective action in parliamentary networks to support Palestine. Both agreed to take advantage of the role and reach of parliament in fighting for this issue on the international stage.
