IBM Withdraws Advertising On X After Placed Next To Pro-Nazi Content

JAKARTA International Business Machines (IBM) stopped cross-advertising on X, previously Twitter, after its advertisements were placed alongside pro-Nazi content according to the Engadget report.

IBM immediately suspended all advertisements from the X platform after Media Matters, a non-profit supervisory organization, reported that a number of advertisements from tech giants were placed next to the memepro-Nazi and promoted Hitler.

"IBM does not tolerate hate speech and discrimination and we immediately suspend all advertisements on X while we investigate this completely unacceptable situation," the company said.

There have been no reports of other companies withdrawing from the advertising issue, but Comcast, a communications firm in America, is investigating the issue of advertising placement for now.

Parties X has responded to this issue. One of the executives X who was not mentioned by Engadget said that advertisements from IBM and a number of other companies could no longer be monetized.

For this reason, their content is placed next to pro-Nazi content. Content identified by Media Matters will appear with sensitive media labels so users must click the warning before viewing the content.

The X executive realized that the placement of advertisements in addition to pro-Nazi content won was not ideal, but the uploads from these ads only resulted in a small number of shows, which was around 8,000 views.

It is not known whether any companies have been affected by IBM's actions. However, if a number of companies participate in attracting advertising on the platform, X should look for ways to prevent their advertising problems from getting worse.
