Israel-Palestinian Conflict, Ganjar: Indonesia Must Be The Initiator Of Peace
MUSI BANYUASIN - Ganjar Pranowo, the 2024 Indonesian presidential candidate (Readpres) has spoken out regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He emphasized that Indonesia must be able to initiate peace about the war in Gaza.
"If we see that the whole world is moving, then Indonesia must contribute. Organizations at the Islamic conference must talk. At the United Nations we have to talk about finding a solution so that we can reconcile," said Ganjar during a meeting at the Hidayatul Fudhola'Walisongo Islamic Boarding School, Musi Banyuasin, Monday 6 November.
Ganjar also strongly condemns the existence of war, because it will only result in misery. In fact, the fact is more terrible because children and women do not escape being victims.
"Whatever is called war is suffering. Children and women are victims. Hospitals are also victims," he explained.
The former governor of Central Java for two terms added that Indonesia must take a stand and initiate peace.
"Political settlement must be done and like it or not, like it or not, someone must initiate it. I think Indonesia has that opportunity. So now in the context of our active free politics today we have to initiate it," said Ganjar.
Peace efforts, he continued, could be carried out by communicating with the World Security Council, to the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) or completion of a two-state solution, yes we talk to Palestine and also Israel. So it would be better," he explained.

Once again, Ganjar explicitly said that all war that had occurred had to be stopped.
"What we need to encourage today is to stop the entire war. Because war will provide disaster and suffering. War will lead to an endless new grudge. So the value of humanity must be prioritized," he concluded.
