Factory In Giga Berlin Will Be Tesla's Cheap Electric Car Rakit In The Future

JAKARTA - Tesla plans to present a cheap electric car that will be assembled at the Giga Berlin Factory, Germany. This was revealed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk while visiting the factory.

Quoted from the Teslarati website, Sunday, November 5, Elon Musk said that the factory would build electric cars at a price of 25,000 US dollars, or around IDR 380 million for the global market.

As is known, a few years ago Tesla had planned to make cheap electric cars, with the aim of expanding customer reach or reaching new segments.

With a figure of Rp. 380 million, of course, it can be an attractive choice because the current price of electric cars is still too expensive. Reflecting on the Indonesian market, several well-known brands sell electric cars ranging from Rp. 500 million and above.

However, there is no lattice about this cheap electric car from Tesla, but Elon Musk said the latest model would be inspired by Cybertruck meaning that it would have a compact body.

Meanwhile, it is estimated that this cheap electric car will also be equipped with advanced technology. This refers to what was revealed by Tesla's Chief Designer, Franz von Holzhausen, last August 2020.

"If we take a path that doesn't have a steering wheel and without Full Self Driving (FSD), we won't be able to launch it," he said.

Tesla's move to present cheap electric cars is in line with the target set. Where, Tesla targets 20 million vehicles per year by 2030.

This means that the company needs vehicles that can be made quickly on a large scale, in order to achieve this goal.
