Lunch With Jokowi, Prabowo: Talking About Elections But Not Talking About Gibran

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo Subianto revealed the conversation during the lunch moment with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Palace. During the event, President Jokowi also invited the presidential candidate for the Change Coalition Anies Baswedan and PDIP presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo.

Prabowo denied that the lunch chat alluded to his vice presidential candidate who is also Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"No (by Gibran, ed)," said Prabowo in the South Jakarta area, Monday, October 30, evening.

Prabowo admitted that the chat with Jokowi and his two rivals only discussed the 2024 election. The Minister of Defense said the President wanted the upcoming elections to be calm and peaceful as well as many ideas from competing candidates.

"Relevantly speaking, the president expects a debate about ideas. We want elections to be harmonious, relaxed, calm, happy, because Indonesia is huge," said Prabowo.

The former Danjen Kopassus said that Indonesia is very rich with many ethnicities, religions, races, customs, and regional culture. Thus, all elements of the nation must be fully aware to always maintain harmony.

"(If) competition, it's just good competition. We take the positive. Don't always look for bad aspects," said Prabowo.

Previously, Prabowo admitted that the chat discussed by Jokowi, himself, Ganjar Pranowo, and Anies Baswedan was quite light. According to him, this lunch agenda is a rare moment.

"Earlier, we also expressed our gratitude for being invited. If we are not invited, we rarely get together. So, he hopes for a good atmosphere, and we also hope for a good atmosphere," Prabowo said at the Presidential Palace, Monday, October 30.
