Napoli Wins, Rudi Garcia Criticizes Players
JAKARTA - Napoli narrowly won 1-0 over Union Berlin in the Champions League Group C match at Olympias Stadium, Wednesday, October 25 in the morning WIB. Despite winning, coach Rudi Garcia was disappointed with the appearance of the players. He did not hesitate to criticize them.
Napoli failed to show their best performance when they visited Union Berlin's headquarters. Contrast to The Partenopei's 3-1 win over Verona in the Italian Serie A competition.
Garcia said that if the team played badly even though the match ended in victory for his team. According to him, the players made a lot of mistakes, especially in the first half. They were also impatient so the team failed to score.
"We played badly and had difficulties. The attacks that were built were not dangerous," said Garcia.
"We made too many mistakes, especially in the first half. Players also often get the wrong way. This is really bad because Union Berlin can always take advantage of the opponent's mistakes to counterattack," he said.
Garcia, further said that the team's game started to improve in the second half. "It's important to play patiently and not open up too much space. But our performance was better in the second half," said Garcia
Striker Giacomo Raspadori said the same thing regarding the team's performance in the match against Union Berlin. Napoli were only lucky to win the game through the goal they scored.
"In terms of technique, this is not our best game. They have a very good game organization and have prepared themselves for this match," said Raspadori.
Followed by the Italian national team striker, "We knew we would face a difficult match. Winning a game like this is clearly very meaningful. Moreover, we won away matches in the Champions League," said Raspadori.
