BAKTI Kominfo Accelerates Digital Transformation through Improving Organizational Governance

JAKARTA - Director of the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) Kominfo Fadhilah Mathar emphasized her commitment to accelerating the completion of telecommunications and information infrastructure development to support Indonesia's digital transformation.

The acceleration of infrastructure development includes the construction of a Base Transceiver Station (BTS), the Palapa Ring fiber optic network, and the operation of the Republic of Indonesia Satellite (SATRIA)-1.

"We at BAKTI Kominfo will of course carry out the mandate of the President of the Republic of Indonesia so that all national programs managed by BAKTI continue to run and are completed through governance that refers to the principles of transparency, accountability, responsibility and compliance with all laws," said Fadhilah in official broadcast on Tuesday, October 24.

Fadhilah explained that currently the Project (Palapa Ring) has been completed and is able to equalize access and prices for fast internet services (broadband) in all cities/regencies in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, regarding the SATRIA-1 project, Fadhilah expressed its operational readiness this year, and it is planned to be ready to connect with the Remote Terminal Ground Segment (RTGS) at 150 thousand public service points, especially those in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost areas (3T).

Fadhilah also emphasized BAKTI's commitment to completing the construction of 4G BTS in the 3T area this year. Previously, the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie, had revealed that construction had reached 96 percent.

"We will make every effort to complete the development of BAKTI's strategic projects and ensure equal connectivity, especially in the 3T region, as well as overcome the digital divide in Indonesia," concluded Fadhilah.

On the same occasion, Fadhilah also explained that in the future, BAKTI needs good governance guidelines so that BAKTI refers to the principles of transparency, accountability, responsibility and compliance.

The hope is that BAKTI can maximize company value, increase the company's performance and contribution, and maintain the company's long-term sustainability in supporting the Indonesian government's strategic programs in the future.
