Amazon Officially Uses Recycled Paper In One Of Its Warehouses
JAKARTA Amazon kept their promise by changing their packaging to non-plastic materials. This change is made with their aim of reducing plastic waste and avoiding plastic pollution that reaches the sea.
Amazon announced that it would leave the bubble mailerplastic packaging and use recycled paper packaging. This paper was also developed to be able to adjust the contents of the product.
The paper, which is used as a packaging, is able to stretch, withstand the weather, and have other advantages. Amazon has also improved their packaging machines.
Now, this machine is capable of wrapping products with adjusted paper folds, using small paper letters for small items, and using paper filling materials.
Although Amazon has changed their plastic packaging, the company's commitment is still being questioned by Oceana's Senior Vice President, Matt Littlejohn.

Quoting from The Verge, representatives of this conservation organization question the clarity of the plastic cessation across Amazon's market as they have just focused on warehouses in Ohio, United States alone.
"Amazon in this announcement doesn't make a clear, measurable, and time-bound commitment so it's not clear when, where, and how much real plastic reduction they're going to do," Littlejohn said.
So far, Amazon has just implemented the use of recycled packaging in the United States. In addition, the company also plans not to pack a strong producer box and label the product directly.
