IX Model Still Leads BMW Electrification Sales In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The current electrification move cannot be dammed, several manufacturers have established themselves to welcome the new era by presenting more EV models. One of the manufacturers committed to this is BMW.
In Indonesia, this German manufacturer has introduced several EV models, including iX, i4, i7, and other products. Since its introduction, some of these cars have received positive responses from several circles.
This is evidenced by the proceeds from sales obtained by BMW Astra, as the official BMW distributor in Indonesia, over the past few times. They noted that currently EV sales in Indonesia are led by iX.
"For the electrification segment, it is still led by iX. Even though in the market we have provided i4, i8, and i7 in Indonesia," said Sanfrantis Tanu, as Chief Executive of BMW Astra, to VOI, Tuesday, October 17.
Sanfrantis mengatakan, penjualan iX yang berlangsung positif diikuti oleh sedan i4, versi elektrifikasi dari Seri-4. Meskipun, ia tidak bisa menyebutkan angka penjualannya.
"We can't mention the numbers. However, what is certain is that i4 sales are below iX at this time," explained Sanfrantis.
For specifications, BMW iX is equipped with an electric motor that can generate 326 dk of power and 630 Nm of torque. With this power, BMW's latest SAV is capable of traveling from 0 to 100 km/h within 6.1 seconds with a maximum speed of 200 km/hour.
The battery embedded in BMW iX is Lithium-ion with a capacity of 76.6 kWh. The distance this car can take is 390 km in a full battery state.
Present with a single variant for the Indonesian market, namely iX xDrive40 Sport, the electric-powered SUV is priced at IDR 2.43 billion OTR Jakarta.
Globally, BMW Group has recorded sales of 246,867 units, an increase of 93 percent from the previous year. Of course, the company is confident that in this segment it will produce sales achievements that exceed last year. As an illustration, BMW Group book 433,795 units in sales of electrified vehicles in 2022.
