WhatsApp Presents Passkeys System For Android Devices

JAKARTA WhatsApp users on Android can now leave a two-factor authentication system with a short message service (SMS). Officially launched on October 16, WhatsApp is now presenting thepasskeys feature.

With this new system, users no longer need to wait for verification messages to log into their accounts. Android users can already rely on other ways such as entering device pins or biometric authentication with facial recognition and fingerprints.

WhatsApp presents the passkeys feature because it is considered safer and more efficient for its users. Moreover, SMS authentication is often a problem because its security is not so secure.

Passwords have great potential to be stolen by data or infiltrated by metodephishing, namely attempts to steal information by tricking social media users. This problem is quite serious for WhatsApp because they prioritize the security of their users.

Usingpasskeys, WhatsApp has increased security on their platform and kept more than 2 billion users from digital threats.Passkeys also makes users who like to use simple passwords more secure.

Before it was officially released, WhatsApp had tested passkeys on the beta channel. After the trial was successful, then WhatsApp implemented apasskeys system on their regular device.

Unfortunately, WhatsApp has not implemented this system on iOS devices. Meta has not yet given the exact time when the keyskompatibel on Apple's device system.
