JAKARTA WhatsApp users on Android can now leave a two-factor authentication system with a short message service (SMS). Officially launched on October 16, WhatsApp is now presenting thepasskeys feature.
With this new system, users no longer need to wait for verification messages to log into their accounts. Android users can already rely on other ways such as entering device pins or biometric authentication with facial recognition and fingerprints.
WhatsApp presents the passkeys feature because it is considered safer and more efficient for its users. Moreover, SMS authentication is often a problem because its security is not so secure.
