Ruth Garcia's Dream To Be Able To Go International
JAKARTA - Since joining Passion Vibe in 2020, Ruth Garcia has released three songs and two collaborative songs.
So far, the songs that Ruth Garcia sings are all English. Not without reason, he wants the song to be heard not only in Indonesia.
"Honestly, I really want to go international. Because from the first release of the song until now, I use English, and one of the reasons I want to penetrate the international music industry," said Ruth Garcia in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta recently.
However, Ruth Garcia has no intention of becoming known to the world through talent search events, like what happened to Princess Ariani.
According to him, his singing character does not match the festival style that is suitable for talent search events. He believes there are other ways to go international.
"I had promised myself, that I actually don't like participating in competitions, especially with my voice type, which is not really a festival,"
"I'm not like Whitney Houston which can amaze people with a high tone. But by writing songs, I'm sure I can make songs that match my timbre. So, maybe I think I'm not doing it in the competition," he continued.
Ruth Garcia believes there is a more suitable way for her to be known abroad. He also told how some of his songs were heard by the Filipinos quite a lot.
He told how the name of the stage he chose could make him known in the Philippines, even invited to an interview with the national media there.

"I thought I was a Filipino because my name was Garcia. So, there are a lot of Garcia's names in the Philippines. When I was interviewed by the Philippine media, I was asked whether I could speak Filipino or not, then I said that I was Indonesian," said Ruth Garcia.
"That's what shocked us. My song can go there, maybe one of them is from a name. They think I'm Filipino this time," he said.
