Positive Doping, Paul Pogba Threatened With Sanctions Ban On Playing And Crossing Out By Juventus

JAKARTA - Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is threatened with a ban on playing for up to four years after testing positive for doping. Juventus immediately terminated the contract of this French national team player.

Pogba is really sad. Since his second move from Manchester United to Juve in 2022, Pogba has never again achieved its best performance.

He has only played in Italy 12 times. The injuries he has experienced repeatedly made this 30-year-old player often miss defending the Bianconeri.

What makes Pogba even more unfortunate is that he was randomly chosen to undergo a doping test after Juve's match against Udinese in the inaugural week of the Italian Serie A competition.

Ironically, he actually just sat on the bench because coach Massimiliano Allegri didn't play in the away game that Juve won 3-0.

However, Pogba, who was once the most expensive player in the world when he was brought back by Manchester United, tested positive for testosterone. After failing the test, he was then banned from playing for Juve. In addition, Pogba had to undergo a second test or 'B' sample to make sure he was using doping or not.

From the results of the sample examination, the results did not change. Pogba remains positive using doping in different categories. This time there is no testosterone content but he still tested positive because of other elements.

For this result, Pogba will now undergo an anti-doping court. If found guilty, the player who brought France to win the 2018 World Cup will be subject to a two-year ban on playing.

If it is proven that he uses doping consciously and regularly, the sentence can be doubled to four years.

Juve will also terminate Pogba's contract which just ended in June 2025 if he declares guilty. In his contract, Pogba receives a salary of 7 million euros annually. Meanwhile, Rafaela Pimenta, Pogba's agent, stated that for now there is no official explanation. "But what is clear is that Pogba never thought of violating the regulations. I can guarantee that," said Pimenta.
