It Was Revealed Why Kurt Cobain Was Fired From The Melvins Album Producer Position
JAKARTA - Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne explained why they fired Kurt Cobain from the production session of their album, men.
Cobain was brought in to produce the 1993 album and at a time in the middle of the process, Melvins fired the iconic vocalist.
Now Osbourne is slamming old rumors claiming that the band fired Cobain because he wants to write all their songs for them.
In fact, the Nirvana frontman was fired for his addiction problem, Osborne said in an interview with Loudwire.
"We fired him because he was too chaotic to finish the recording," Osborne said.
"After being asked if there was any catalyst moment' that sparked a split in a recent interview with Revolver," Osbourne said.
"Yes, that's exactly what happened. He didn't appear in any of the sessions, and it was very clear [that he wasn't fit]"

The Melvins vocalist added that it was not an assessment of Cobain's ability, but rather a feeling that would not work.
"I went to the office [Nirvana manager] Danny Goldberg at Atlantic and said this to him (Try it). And he easily didn't remember anything, it was crazy," he told Revolver.
Earlier discussing the topic in 2009 with The Stranger (as reported by Loudwire), Osbourne said: "Unfortunately, Cobain is not in any condition to produce anything. So we got into the recording session, and I met A&R officers at Atlantic and said, 'Listen, I'm not recording with him anymore. Basically, I fired him. As far as I know, Kurt did what he did as much as possible, and that's the end."
As is known, Cobain died of suicide less than a year after his album was released. He was credited as a co-producer on the album.
