What Is Political Will And Is Important In Government? PKS Awaits Ganjar's Commitment
YOGYAKARTA - The chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali, mentioned the political will when responding to Ganjar Pranowo's statement while attending a lecture at the University of Indonesia (UI). Ganjar said he would expel workers from China, but asked if citizens could replace him. So what is political will and how important it is for the government.
Mardani Ali responded to Ganjar's statement by emphasizing political Will. Mardani believes that the President's job is to side with his citizens, especially in terms of work. According to him, the President must do it and must be able to do it.
In addition, Mardani Ali also praised Ganjar for being able to make State Vocational Schools free and quality. He continued by questioning how political will Ganjar is. What is political will?
Political will be defined as a commitment of policy makers or major decision makers related to policy solutions on certain issues'. Political will of a leader is needed in the process of structuring and implementing government policies in a country.
Political will is not only a commitment by decision makers in the central government, but must also be carried out by regional-level policy makers. For example, to build and develop a safe and comfortable transportation system in an area, a political will of the local government is needed.
Moreover, in Indonesia, many problems require political will from the government to be able to solve it. Starting from the Human Rights problem (HAM, food welfare, equitable education, and so on. Without the political will, the implementation of vulnerable government programs is not carried out optimally until they are delayed or take place slowly.
Ganjar Pranowo had the opportunity to fill a national lecture at Balairung Balai Purnomo, FISIP, UI, on Monday. At one of the best campuses in Indonesia, Ganjar received a surprising question from a UI student.
A student named Naufal asked Ganjar about his status as a party cadre. During the question and answer session, the student questioned whether Ganjar would become a member of the people or party officials.
"So basically I want Pak Ganjar to answer today at this honorable Balairung, so that the question is clear, is it the people's officer or party official?" said Naufal.
Naufal said he admired and followed Ganjar's name for a long time until since the former Governor of Central Java was announced to be running as a candidate for Presidential Candidate 2024 from PDIP. However, Naufal was disappointed when Megawati Soekarnoputri called Ganjar a party official.
"Honestly, I admire you, I feel disappointed that you are the father who is expected to be a member of the people, it turns out to be a party official," said Naufal.
"My statement is that if you are elected as the eighth president, will you stick to the principles of defending yourself, the people, the governor is just a mandate and not a Megawati doll?" continued Naufal.
When he got the question, Ganjar immediately stood up and asked Naufal back. Ganjar asked if Naufal had followed him for 10 years as Governor. Naufal also answered that he was indeed following Ganjar's figure.
"Okay, who am I?" asked Ganjar again.
